I love Wordle (and you should check out Wordsift as well). With such a simple tool we can do some amazing analysis of our own thoughts and beliefs. Thanks for sharing.

Online collaborating and teaching can work, If you have trust and the right tools.
I recently tried http://www.showdocument.com – good app for uploading documents and working on them in real-time.
Most file types are supported and it needs no installation. – andy

I love how you approached this post. Interdisciplinary work in a classroom is most often our analogy for synthesis and we tend to do this through projects where we pull in the necessary information, essential tools and ultimately a means for communicating our understanding. Great post!

I love when the video segments truly demonstrate “subjects” in the context of real life. You did a nice job of providing meaningful extensions to the content itself. Somewhat surprisingly, at least for non-math teachers, the best results we often see with using video content comes in the math classroom. Visualization and real-world connections are essential.

Christine,
I liked the program you chose for you digital portfolio. I am not going to deduct points from your final project for not having contact information, because like your peers, you are using these in your current professions…however, make sure that you are aware of the rubrics when doing a project. I also had a tough time reading your introduction slide, the font you chose, inserted odd characters and it was very small…I had to make it a lot larger to read. Also, none of your videos worked. Sorry to hear about your power outages. Please see my comments in your grade for this project in regards to that! Good job, and I appreciate all your hard work and insightful discussions these past 7 weeks!

It is amazing what you can learn in 7 short weeks isn’t it? I truly think the blog is the best assignment. It is here where you log your assignments and activities, but also here where you can reflect and actually “remember” what you have learned! As I look back on this group of 3 students and all that you guys accomplished in these 7 weeks I amazed and a little proud It is wonderful to know that you are apply what you learned in this class to your professional life and that it is useful! You were a pleasure to have in class and your contributions to the discussions and assignments were insightful and well prepared! Great job!
