On Human Filters…

Discovering useful websites that are developmentally appropriate for students can be time consuming.  Human filters certainly come in handy and help teachers to work smarter, not harder.  Some of the filters I have used are:

– In-school peer reviews.  I will often check with colleagues to share websites that they truly feel are beneficial to their instruction.

– I am a member of several Ning Groups (i.e., Classroom 2.0).  If one posts a question in a forum, I can guarantee you will receive a beneficial response within 24 hours.

– RSS Feeds: I have subscribed to a couple of RSS feeds that I personally find beneficial as an educator.  One is http://www.freetech4teachers.com/

– Expert ed-tech gurus: I often go to Tammy Worcester’s and Kathy Schrock’s websites for valuable resources
